WIX or No WIX you decide

As a web designer and Web host for some time i was somewhat amazed at the WIX system when it first came on the scene, but as a skeptic I told myself to sit back and watch first and continue using my favorite semantic WordPress web design FREE software.

Well i can say without a doubt i am pleased i was not caught up in this statement about WIX as mentioned in the Washington Times

“It’s Easy, Free & Takes 5 Minutes!‎The leading HTML5 web-publishing platform

So while writing this review i decided to google wix and clicked on the link to wix in google ” http://www.wix.com/html5webbuilder/400?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=bi_Wix_Eng^wix&experiment_id=Wix^e&gclid=CNTA9uPvwLkCFUXJtAod1jsA_A”

Firstly what a long link ???

By the time i had written this far the site still had not opened.

So i decided to search WIX Reviews

Here are some extracts of the reviews:

You should never never using Wix Premium

Wix is not good company. All they need is your money. Trust me! Like many newbie, I was amazing of their tool, app, html 5… Before buying wix I also read many review on trustpilot but still decide to buy premium.

But they are may be worse than the worst. Wix is flexible but they do not have any blog. I you need create porfolio by time, you may wait for thier blog apps. however they promise it in 2 year and do nothing until now. I you want creating a good website for Seo, no blog is very difficult. You can hire easy seo blog app, but it is stupid when spending over 10 usd/month and still have to pay more.

Their server is too slow if your website is out of the US. Not like other Service, wix do not have local server for your website. I also buy [external reference] for another website but they have local server for my website and it work very good.

Wix billing and payment is really a cheat. They do not have manual payment method. Once you using thier package, they will keep charging you without notice each month or each year.

Trust me, I am frustrated with wix.com over three month. I hope trust pilot have minus star for this company.

For any one who are still being surprised by their flexible tool or app, don’t be cheated. If you like web builder, you can use webuilder. If you don’t like web builder, using wordpress and a good WordPress host and support team is the best.

MINIMUM price is 50£ to have a live website (with their ads). Do not give your money to this people

The website doesn’t give clear information. They allow you to buy a domain for 15 pounds. That sounds cheap, and for sure you can create a template very quickly if you can handle an editor. The problem is that you CAN NOT do anything with this domain rather then buy a premium template for 50pounds minimum ( having their ads on your website) to point to, afterwards. They don not refund domain purchase. So after you have bought a domain, you found out that you still need to spend 50 £. to have a website online.
The only thing you can do is transfer your domain away. And for sure you want to go away from them straightaway. But NO. you can not do it. not earlier then 60 days.
So Please do not do my mistake. I have now to buy a new domain from another company in order to create the website and wait 60 days to be able to move the domain I bought with them. A waste of time and money. Frustrating.

Wix does not support google adsense yet.
they just add the Adsense App on there app store,
But when you connect your site to your adsense google adsense show this EROE:

“Our crawler was unable to access your page to determine its content and display relevant ads. When our crawler can’t access the content, often we won’t show ads resulting in lower revenue and coverage. At other times, we’ll show ads that are irrelevant resulting in lower CTR. Follow the links in the ‘How to fix.’ column to correct these errors and improve AdSense performance.”

wix support team does not support at all, They just copy and paste the foolish answered.

Don’t waste your time on WIX

Wix treat their ‘customers’ with complete disregard

Don’t be sucked in by the Wix templates, because once you become a paying customer, they do not ‘give a toss’ to put it mildly.
The support forum is a joke:
– If you report a bug (and there are many) they will not take responsibility – but instead just try fob you off with lame excuses.
– Bugs that they do acknowledge – some features that I would call ‘standard’ for a website eg. footer and menu button scaling, viewing on different browsers, basic html widget – are still not fixed – going back to June 2012.
– They do not read your support questions – they would rather not answer, experts at dodging, just give a standard ‘copy/paste’ answer that has no relevance.
– If you complain – well, then they will just ignore you.
– Google? Well, they say they don’t support ‘3rd party products’!
– If there’s a problem with any of the 3rd party apps they advertise – they will take no responsibility for them either.
– The standard response for most support inquiries is: upgrade your browser (even “tell you customers to upgrade their browser”!), empty your cache, take a screen shot – and when you do that – they respond with “we could not replicate this issue”!
– Their ‘mobile’ solution is awful and the desktop version of their sites have issues with the variety of smartphones and tablets on the market.
– The support forum itself is really ‘unsearchable’ – you cannot search on a topic that others have posted to see the Wix response – no wonder.
I could go on, but needless to say I have never experienced a company with such poor service. Try another website builder, one that you can tweak to html code (with wix you cannot) . If you need a professional site – then Wix is not the answer. They have (and still do) cause me much embarrassment.

Wix Affiliates program: Giving excuses to don’t pay commissions.

Wix gave a ridiculous excuse to ignore the commissions earned. I provided enough supporting documentation, but they ignore my emails. No phone number, only a general email address. Any idea of a phone number, address in US, person or entity to present the complaint?

Buggy Page Editor

For some reason every time I log onto my wix website the website layout has changed. Sometimes page elements have been compressed and other times they’ve moved to different locations on the page. The latest issue is that the Home page in the live site extends down an extra full page and is filled with blank space even though when I check it in Editor it ends at the footer(where it should). Please note this problem has just occurred without me fiddling with the layout. Secondly when in Editor mode on my Products page I cannot view the last item I inserted(it has become cut off), yet strangely enough you can view it on the Live site, although this makes editing it impossible. There are some serious bugs pertaining to the wix editor, both visible in Chrome and Safari.

Check your page source and you would be surprised that they would edit & embed codes so it will load slow and move your site to the slowest server even if you have a premium account.

Shame they don’t make customer a priority.

I like the interface of the product and the tools for making pages, however it seems like it could be more intuitive. I was shocked to see how many negative reviews Wix got, until I saw how many fake 5 star reviews were spammed right under each of them!! Now that is a reason to keep my money in the bank. Shame.

After frustrating issues and reading poor reviews….

I’ve used WIX for a couple years now and WIX is by far the easiest and most customizable editor I’ve used, and I’ve tried most of the WYSIWYG builders. While they’ve made some major improvements to the editing platform over the years, it feels way to unstable to actually invest money into.

There are a few issues I’ve noticed that are big enough that prevent me from actually launching the website and paying the premium. For instance, when you zoom out on the HTML editor in preview mode (and I have looked into this issue quite thoroughly and WIX has no solution), the website background stays the width of the users screen but the pages along with the images will shrink back into the middle and it messes up the whole ratio of the website. Images and texts are completely offset from the background and it looks awful.

While I’m on the issue of backgrounds here’s another issue I’ve encountered. There is absolutely no way for me to find out the perfect dimensions of a custom background I have made because the WIX team has no answer for it. For instance if I wanted to make a blank .png and put my graphics on, they have no answer for what size I need to make it exactly (yes WIX I know the native size for your site is supposed to be 980 X 683 but I tried scaling my image down to that size and it just would not work). While I did find a way to make my background not move when switching pages (which was very very annoying, it has something to do with the length and width of your pages from what I’ve read), there is no way to position that background into the perfect place.

The other issue, as every single other user has reviewed on, is the image management system. It’s just not functional if you have a lot of images to put up. It could possibly take hours to upload, organize and tag photos that would normally take thirty mins tops on normal image organizers. Another issue I’ll comment on is the poor customer support you have, while I haven’t called any of your “support” phone numbers, I have thoroughly reviewed your forums for answers to my issues. I have found every single one of my issues on your forums, but to no avail, no answer. Just some dry coat throat response, “sorry we do not have an answer for the problem at this time but if you have any other question please contact at blah blah blah”.

Lastly, I didn’t buy your product because I was so frustrated with these reviews and my issues that I decided to look into other products and thankfully I did. I have read many disconcerting reviews regarding your server speeds and functionality. Absolutely something a professional can not rely on.

While in my search for other programs, which are few and far between, I urge users to check out Web Acapella. It took me hours to find in the forums because it was french based product. It has a harder learning curve than most WYSIWYG programs but the final product is well worth it. AND the best part is you pay one time for the software! No need to pay monthly which is amazing in its own.

Having said that, WIX, if you fixed these issues and the other ones that fellow users have complained about, I would absolutely buy into your program. It’s simplicity is unmatched but as a professional I can not rely on you. FIX YOUR ISSUES it’s 2013 for god sake!

These were just a couple of reviews i found and trust me there were hundreds more.

That said i also found 2 or 3 Good Reviews

Well that said i have now researched for 10 minutes and written this article as well and alas the website from WIX still has not opened.

So if you want to get yourself sucked in by these and similar other so called FREE wonderful website creation tools THINK AGAIN !

In Conclusion

Wix May have a good great platform with wonderful features but if your site is down not accessible, Forever changing and you have no support rather look into using something like wordpress available @ Eeze WordPress

Signing off now and still no WIX Load WOW
